PHILIPPINES: USBONG CONTINUES TO PROVIDE COMPUTER SERVICE
ASSISTANCE TO MARIKINA ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALTY CLINIC (MOSC)
AND PARTNER PERIPHERAL UNITS
June 2020

To eliminate excess steps and inefficient time usage, MOSC requested Usbong's services to automate routine, monotonous tasks and share with unit members know-how on computers.

INFORMATION DESK

The unit member at the Information Desk adds patients in the Patient Queue for the day.

We at Usbong and MOSC recycled and restored available, albeit defective, computers and Information Technology (IT) tools.

This is instead of immediately classifying them as unusable garbage to be destroyed.

In addition, at present, we use technologies whose instructions are publicly available, i.e. open source,
alongside proprietary tools, e.g. Microsoft Windows Operating System (OS).

Examples include among others: LUBUNTU OS, LibreOffice, and Apache Web Server.
INPUT:
1) Enter a few key letters in the Search Box.
2) Add details if new Patient.

OUTPUT:

ACCOUNTING/CASHIER

The unit member at the Accounting/Cashier executes the following actions:

1) verifies patient information
2) adds any medicine and non-medicine item purchases

The Tablet Personal Computer (PC) as Calculator+ assists in the computation of the corresponding payment to be received from the patient for the health service.

Daily re-verification of accounting reports which include among others, payment transactions and the more than 300 variations of items in the inventory, is now down to 20 minutes.

We recommend using saved time to play physical sports and musical instruments with the company.
INPUTS:
1) Verify Patient Name, Medical Doctor, and Classification.
2) Add Service Fees.

1) Add non-medicine items if necessary.

1) Add medicine items if necessary.

OUTPUTS (SELECT REPORTS):

PERIPHERAL UNITS
@STA. LUCIA HEALTH CARE CENTRE (SLHCC)
@ST. VINCENT GENERAL HOSPITAL (SVGH)

We shared know-how on Computers and IT tools with existing unit members via Usbong Education Training Courses.

Our objective is to empower unit members to solve problems with the available tools.

With this, each unit member advances in know-how as the years progress, instead of remaining stagnant in skill-level and income despite years of service with the company.

In addition, we welcome applicants who are willing to do honest work, so that know-how and income are shared with more people, and not only with a select few.
